The pedestrian street was rebuilt together with the entire city centre. Not far from here, various events and conferences are held in the newly finished Hangvilla, on the site of the former Séd Cinema.
The Hangvilla Multifunctional Community Centre is Veszprém’s cultural stage. It is home to the Pannon Castle Theatre, the Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra, the Veszprém City Mixed Choir and the Expresszó Club and Concert Hall.
The 7000 m2 includes the nearly 500 person capacity concert hall. From every aspect this attractive modern building is able to serve all technical needs of the 21th century. The Hangvilla offers its visitors a unique communal area where all ages can find entertainment through classical music, pop music and theatrical and variety performances. In addition to all this the Hangvilla offers the facility for conferences, consultations and city events, too.
The main lounge has a very unique architectural design concept and has featured on the front page of the prestigious architectural magazine Octogon (Architecture and Design). In 2014 the city donated the Gisela-award to the architectural team of the Hangvilla. They returned their financial allowance of the prize for the acquisition of a grand piano for the Hangvilla.
The Hangvilla is not only an event location, conference centre, concert and theatre hall. It also houses a coffee shop and restaurant as well. It comprises a meeting point, a pleasure ground and a cultural exhibition centre too.
It is a place where any time is good to visit. Please, decide for yourself!
